Centenary Park Café - reinvented!
Turning a rundown rejected former bowling green club house into a beautiful coffee shop in the middle of Centenary Park, Stanmore is an incredible story of vision and hard work through the pandemic.
Much loved by all ages, from school children to senior, the Café staff have one common goal, this is to always serve with a smile, ask the regulars who now spend 2-3 hours just sitting outside sipping tea, coffee or soft drinks whilst observing the park activities.
The local dog walkers love to visit the Café as it provides ice cream and snack foods for both man and as importantly his dog, a great gesture.
Rain, snow or glorious sunshine, the Café is always open to serve you, cold drinks, hot coffee and delicious niche snacks.
The Café is colourful bright and very clean, now has a local lady who always warmly welcomes the growing number of customers every day.
So who is my local hero?
This has to be the all inspiring man who has totally turned the Café and the surrounding area into a wonderful experience, Mr Ciprian Lulciuc, a 31-year- old local resident who whilst coaching youngsters felt ‘something was missing’ and took the opportunity to invest, via a bank loan, in renovating the Café and surrounding area. Ciprian is a qualified UEFA Football coach and hclds a degree in Forestry and Business Management.
both parents are keen that their son experiences the ed ucation of the outdoor WOfld, climb trees, fall over and everything that makes growing up so wonderful.
Ciprian has recently added sheltered outdoor seating for 50 or more people, for the public to use whilst relaxing and enjoying the Café services. This area can be used for parties too.
You will often see Ciprian working on the derelict over grown bailing green area, clearing rubble and planting grass seed so the coaching session can be done on good quality surface. He also has plans to build an all-weather astro turf pitch so the youngster can play and enjoy football and outdoor game all year round.
He further wants to have local parents participate in all events and experience the fun of outdoor life.
